NEABSCO BOARDWALK

Balter provided comprehensive geotechnical services and Special Inspections for this approximately 3,400 LF boardwalk, towers and bridges across Neabsco Creek and its tidal marsh extending the Potomac Heritage National Scenic Trail in Prince William County, VA.

With sensitivity to wetland areas, the geotechnical design incorporated “top-down” construction methods where timber piles were installed using vibratory hammers.

The boardwalk held a grand opening on June 1, 2019 and has received many positive reviews from the community since opening.
