MARYLAND AVIATION ADMINISTRATION (MAA)
Balter’s work at BWI has spanned over 45 years and includes geotechnical, environmental and QA/QC for parking garages, terminals, rail and roadways, utility relocations, and airside and landside horizontal improvements. Notable projects include the current Southwest Terminal A/C Expansion and Baggage Handling System Basement, Fuel Farm Rehabilitations, Terminal Expansions, Pier D/Y Terminal, Constructability Review, P401 Plant Inspections, Light Rail System including International Terminal Station, Hourly Parking Garage, FAA ASDE-X Tower System. Balter is also active with ten (10) of MAA’s GA Facilities.
Currently, Balter is heavily involved in Architectural and Engineering Phase II Design Services for the Terminal A/B Baggage Handling System upgrades. The Design Services will be based on the solutions outlined in the Concept Validation Report (CVS) dated July 15, 2019, as provided by Jacobs to the Maryland Department of Transportation, Maryland Aviation Administration (MDOT MAA).
The design documents will be submitted in three separate Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP) packages to accommodate the Construction Manager-At-Risk’s (CMAR) schedule.Delivery of the Issued of for Construction documents of all three packages marks the end of the Phase II Design Services.
